Biography

Kevin Ketner is a trial attorney at Penn Law specializing in complex personal injury litigation. His practice covers a broad range of high-stakes cases, including wrongful death, childhood sexual abuse, insurance bad faith, toxic environmental torts, trucking and motor vehicle collisions, and medical negligence.

Leveraging his background in microbiology and professional experience in genetic toxicology, Kevin brings a unique scientific perspective to the courtroom—particularly in toxic tort cases. His deep understanding of the intersection between science and law has helped establish Penn Law as a leader in environmental litigation involving hazardous chemical exposures.

Kevin was recently a key member of the trial team that secured a landmark 8-figure verdict in Georgia’s first-ever trial involving toxic exposure to ethylene oxide, a carcinogenic gas used in the sterilization of medical equipment. This case was only the fifth ethylene oxide exposure trial in the nation and just the second to result in a plaintiff’s verdict.

In another high-profile matter, Kevin helped secure a $345 million judgment on behalf of 20 survivors of childhood sexual abuse against five insurance companies that wrongfully denied coverage. Other notable results include multiple 8-figure toxic tort settlements, a $21 million judgment in a business dispute, a $6 million institutional childhood sexual abuse settlement, and a $5 million wrongful death recovery against a trucking company.

Active in the Georgia legal community, Kevin has authored several amicus briefs on behalf of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) and American Association for Justice (AAJ) in high-profile cases before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

Kevin earned his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Clemson University, where he competed as a scholarship athlete on the track and cross-country teams. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor for the Intellectual Property Law Journal and represented survivors of childhood sexual abuse through the Wilbanks CEASE Clinic. His commitment to advocacy was further recognized by his selection to the prestigious E. Wycliffe Orr, Sr. American Inn of Court during his final year.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys running, playing sports, and watching Clemson football. He lives in Sandy Springs with his wife and son and serves his local community as a board member of the Whispering Pines Neighborhood Association.
