Psychiatric Industry

Unfortunately, the psychiatric industry in the U.S. is run by multi-billion dollar corporations with little or no intent of actually treating those with mental disorders.  Instead, they are tied in with large insurance companies and set treatment plans according to available insurance rather than a patient’s needs. 

Patients are literally discharged when insurance runs out, not when the patient is ready to be discharged.  As a result, people are not getting much needed mental health care and tragedies like Sandy Hook Elementary, Charleston, Columbine, Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, Texas and Aurora, Colorado continue to happen.  Lawyers at Penn Law are working hard to make a difference in this wayward industry.
