A Voice For Victims For Over 25 Years

Sexual Abuse

Penn Law works on behalf of victims of child sexual abuse and others sexually abused, including the sex trade. In Georgia, it is estimated that one in ten children are sexually abused before they reach the age of 18. This sort of horrific conduct often occurs through churches, private schools, motels and other institutions like the Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Church, and the Boys and Girls Club. The trauma and injuries caused by these unspeakable acts is long-lasting and destructive.

We have an understanding of not just the immense strength and courage it takes to acknowledge the devastating harm caused by sexual abuse, but the emotional and psychological obstacles faced by those who seek to hold their abusers, and the businesses and institutions in which they work or volunteer, accountable in a court of law. Importantly, in Georgia, a plaintiff can bring a claim against not only the abuser, but may also be able to bring a claim against an entity responsible for exposing the child to the abuser.

Filing a lawsuit will not take away the memories of abuse or the years of pain a victim has endured, but it is the best way to help that victim receive some measure of justice. Vigorous advocacy for survivors of sexual abuse can also help prevent others from becoming victims. The injuries and damages in all of these cases are far-reaching and continue for the rest of a victim’s life. The attorneys at Penn Law recognize this fact and fight to compensate their clients for damages which span a lifetime.

Child Molestation - Penn Law LLC

The attorneys at Penn Law specialize in the following types of cases:

• Sexual abuse – These cases require a specialized skill set and level of expertise involving applicable Georgia law. At Penn Law, we recognize that these cases have long-reaching impact that lasts for a victim’s entire life and not just the life-span of the case.

• Sex trade – Sex trafficking is the equivalent of modern day slavery and imprisons hundreds of thousands of people each year. What is worse, these individuals are typically females from other countries outside of the U.S. between the ages of 12-14 years old. Unfortunately, Atlanta has become one of the fastest growing hubs for human trafficking. Recent Georgia laws have gone into effect to protect victims and bring criminal charges against the perpetrators.

• Rape and sexual assault – The attorneys at Penn Law handle rape, statutory rape, and sexual assault cases. Rape is defined as carnal knowledge of a woman forcibly and against her will. Statutory rape is defined as intercourse with an individual under the age of 16. Sexual assault requires a person who has supervisory or disciplinary authority over another and engages in any sexual contact with that person.
